Creating safe and inclusive public
spaces for women

Course summary

Developed as a report by Women's Health East in 2020, this course has been adapted for our Gender Equity eLearning Hub and gives an overview of the role that the design of public spaces plays in creating spaces that are safe, welcoming and accessible for women.

It also looks at women's experience of public spaces and highlights the importance of women's voices and expertise in creating spaces that are safe and inclusive for everyone. The report, and this course, will be of interest to those who have a role in urban design and planning.
