Our eLearning courses are developed within a state and national context, with a local focus to ensure they are relevant across our regions.

ENCOURAGE CHANGE

Learners will build awareness and develop knowledge and skills to help encourage change towards gender equity in their workplace and community.

CUSTOMISED TRAINING

We provide a variety of courses for organisations as well as individual community members to support their specific needs.

On the Gender Equity eLearning Hub we have learning pathways for all learners. You can dip in and out of the Hub by trying a course here or there, or you can take a Learning Pathway to deepen your knowledge on many different topics.

Our learning pathways situate courses that follow a similar overarching topic, concept or idea. Our courses sit within a minimum of two learning pathways – the main topic and in addition, where it sits within the socio-ecological model. Our video the socio-ecological model explains the model in less than five minutes, and our course Introduction to the socio-ecological model (gender equality) in less than ten minutes if you’re not quite sure what this means.

Foundations of gender equity

Courses for all walks of life that provide a solid understanding of gender equity. If you’re not sure what gender equity is – start with our course Getting started with gender equity

Courses for the workplace that provide a solid understanding of gender equity

Prevention of gender-based violence

Courses that enhance understanding of, and help apply, the principles of primary prevention to prevent gender-based violence

Courses that explore sexual and reproductive health rights, and that provide an understanding of how these rights can be applied in health settings

Climate justice

Courses that explore the intersections between climate and gender

Courses that explore the intersections between mental health, wellbeing and gender

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Courses that support you to apply diversity, equity and inclusion concepts in your work

Resources that support change for individuals through the lens of the socio-ecological model.

At the individual level of the socio-ecological model are biological and personal history factors such as adhering to rigid gender roles and identities. An example is a parent telling their young son to ‘man up and stop crying’, or, ‘boys don’t cry’.

Change for organisations and communities

Resources that support change for organisations and communities through the lens of the socio-ecological model.

At the organisational and community level are the ‘rules’ in settings such as schools, workplaces and neighbourhoods. An example of this might be the soccer coach telling a male team to ‘stop playing like girls’; or an unwritten rule at work that doesn’t allow people to have tattoos visibly showing.

Resources that support institutional change through the lens of the socio-ecological model.

At the system/institutional level are the legislations and policies in place that address, or do not address a gender imbalance. An example of this would be a gender diversity policy that allows people to use the bathroom they are comfortable using in the workplace.

Societal change

Resources that support societal change through the lens of the socio-ecological model.

At the societal level, we see the broader messages about the dominant social norms that we might receive through printed media, social media or on television. An example of this could be a poster advertising a young professionals networking event, with all the females dressed in clothing for nursing, cleaning or administrative roles, and men as doctors and tradesmen.
